Welcome
The Westminster Business School is organising a series of courses on the advance use of Stata. Stata has become in recent years one of the main statistical program for social scientists, particularly in Economics.
Targeted audience
These courses will be of particular benefit to graduate and postgraduate students in Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology and other disciplines (Medicine, Biology) and to applied statisticians in order to use the full potential of Stata as a program for statistical analyses.
Goals of the courses
These courses will aim to answer two frequent problems for statistical program users.
On one hand, students often struggle to bridge the gap between their theoretical courses and the use of a statistical program. These courses will bridge the gap between the statistical courses and the practical use of the software.
One of the main goals of this series will be to illustrate how to use Stata properly, applying the full set of statistical tools presented in advanced statistics/econometrics courses.
On the other hand, practitioners often do not realise all the potential of Stata in terms of data management and programming facilities. These courses will aim to help people already using Stata to exploit its full potential for their data analyses.
